CUDAS SWIM PARENTS - Please Read - ACTION needed
Cudas!
Great weather expected for Saturday! Yet, we only have 50% attendance marked for the Lollipop Meet.
We need parents to update availability for the meets - this saturday in particular - if you do not update, then it is assumed that your son or daughter is not swimming and will not be slotted in any events.
Everyone can swim in this meet! This is a time trial so kids get experience with the meet structure and an official time to seed future meets.
Important to dos and notes:
1. TODAY - Mark your children's availability in SWIMTOPIA! They will not be slotted to swim unless you do this step. Updates on the meet will only go to those that are participating!
- Go to carderock.swimtopia.com
- Login
- Go to the Schedules/Events Tab
- Find the Swim Time Trials and click on it.
- At minimum - mark if your child will be attending or not
- Optional: Pick strokes to swim - coaches will review for input
Parents are needed to run meets. No experience is needed for any role. We will reach out to you to train you on the role (or just ping me). This is the meet to experiment as a volunteer! You mark your volunteer role in the same place as the swimmer availability update.
3. Prepare your kids: Be on time - 8 am on deck and checked in with a coach - 8:15 kids are in the water. Enter on the side entrance to the pool, by the tennis courts. Kids should bring towels, water bottles, snacks, sunscreen and of coarse - goggles and Cuda Caps. If this is their first meet, we have a cap for them!Be prepared to stay for the entire meet, cheer on their team members. See below for the coaches challenge after the meet. If the swimmer must leave early, please talk to the coaches. 8:30 am Parents meeting in the clubhouse! - We will go over volunteer roles, A meets, B meets, Pep Rallies, Banquets, and any other questions you may have. 4. During the meet - Your kids will be participating on the team and should be sitting with the team and coaches during the meet. After swimming, all kids should check in with their coaches, please encourage the coach - swimmer interactions. The kids will be learning how to participate in meets as well. 5. After the meet
, enjoy the pools. Kids and coaches often participate in spontaneous games such as Sharks and Minnows. -- Bonus - Coaches Lauren & Patrick will be challenging kids to Sharks and Minnows after the meet. Stick around and cheer on the team and the kids will have a great time celebrating afterwards.
In future meets, we will have a BBQ for home Saturday meets or an optional meet up for lunch at a local restaurant.
Thank you!
Katy
