Mini Cuda Group Swim Lessons
The Mini Cudas are the youngest swimmers, learning to blow bubbles, float, begin stroke technique, etc. The age range for this program is older 3s, 4s and 5s, and some 6s. Four 1-week sessions will be offered. As of now, coaches CANNOT be hands-on with swimmers. Any swimmer who is not independent in the middle pool will need a parent to join IN WATER with the swimmer. Otherwise, a parent or caregiver must be on the pool deck at all times during the Mini Cuda lessons.
Requirements: Children should be comfortable being in the water and being apart from a parent or caregiver. If your child is not comfortable with one or both requirements, then please sign up for private lessons instead.
Swimmers tend to be on the younger side for Mini Cudas, but we do have some older swimmers and they are grouped according to age and ability within each class. If your child is on the older side and has some swimming skills you may want to consider pre-team. Note: pre-team is a team that meets for 4 consecutive weeks. You cannot register week by week for that program. Mini Cudas allows for registration on a weekly basis. You choose which weeks you would like and register individually for each week.
Class size is limited. Mini-Cudas is designed for those relatively new to swimming. This is a group format with a ratio of approximately 1 coach to every 2-3 swimmers.
Swimmers MUST be comfortable getting in the water AND comfortable separating from parents. We ask our coaches to focus on swimmers in the water. In this group format, we ask coaches NOT to coax children who aren't quite ready. If your child is not there yet, no problem. Ask about private lessons instead. All of our excellent coaches are available for private lessons to be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time. Please note, coaches are NOT allowed to be hands-on with swimmers per MoCo social distance guidelines.
We will offer 4 one-week sessions. Some are 4 days, M-TH, and some are 2 days, T/TH. At this time, each group is limited to 5 participants. During registration you pick a time slot and come each weekday at that time for a group lesson. Sign up for 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks...whatever works for you. Knowing that all children learn through repetition, the program will be structured with the same format and skill targets each week.
