Carderock Springs Swim & Dive

The Mini Cudas are the youngest group of swimmers, learning to blow bubbles, float, begin stroke technique, etc. The age range for this program is older 3s, 4s and 5s, and some 6s. 

Requirements: A parent or caregiver must be on the pool deck at all times during the Mini Cuda lessons. Children MUST be comfortable being in the water AND being apart from a parent or caregiver. If your child is not comfortable with either requirement, then please sign up for private lessons instead.

Mini Cudas offers four 1-week sessions, and you may sign your swimmer for one or more week, with a specific daily practice time you will select during registration.  Children learn through repetition, so the program will be structured with the same format and skill targets each week. 

Mini Cudas are grouped according to age and ability within each class. If your child is on the older side and has some swimming skills, please consider pre-team. (Pre-team meets for four consecutive weeks; you may not register week by week for that program.) Mini-Cudas is designed for those relatively new to swimming, and is coached in a group format with a ratio of approximately 1 coach to every 3 swimmers. We ask our coaches to focus on swimmers in the water, NOT to coax children into the water who aren't quite ready. If your child is not there yet, please ask about private lessons instead. All of our excellent coaches are available for private lessons to be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time.

2026 Schedule

Sessions are offered at these times, which you will select at registration: 915-1000AM, 315-400PM, 400-445PM, 530-615PM. Each group is limited to 12 participants. Please note that registration closes 8 days prior to the start of each session. Late registrations will not be accepted.

Fee for one week session: $114 (M-Th)

Week 1: June 22-25

Week 2: June 29-July 2

Week 3: July 6-9

Week 4: July 13-16

We are planning a Mini Meet for anyone participating in Mini Cudas or Pre-Team this summer. The Mini Meet will be on Saturday July 11 at around 12 noon immediately following the last Home Meet for Swim Team. Be on deck 11:30 a.m.

Please note there are no make-ups or credits for any sessions that are missed for any reason, or that are canceled due to circumstances beyond our control including but not limited to weather events and unscheduled pool closures.
