Inclement Weather Policy for Swim & Dive
This applies to all swimmers and divers of all ages in our programs, please read on.
Coaches and pool management make a case by case decision on weather related closures for swim and dive practices.
If it’s raining but not storming, it’s entirely possible that swim practice will still be held. (You don’t have to come, but we do often swim in the rain).
For divers it will depend on how slippery the conditions are.
In the event of bad weather such as heavy rain, storms etc please be on the lookout for an email indicating that practices are cancelled. (We only send cancellation emails, not “still on” emails). Sometimes storms are sudden snd emails are last minute. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
It is also possible that a practice ends early due to the arrival of a storm. And possible for some practices to be “on” while others are “cancelled” within the same day. It really depends on the weather pattern and safety.
Very occasionally if there is a severe warning and it looks almost certain that a storm is coming during practices, we may cancel in advance. However, it’s more common that we take a wait and see approach.
Please note, as part of our policies (which you agreed to during registration), there are no make ups or credit for sessions missed, including missed sessions due to weather related cancellations or circumstances beyond our control (Ie unexpected pool closure). You cannot come at another practice time if your practice is cancelled.
Feel free to reply to this email with any questions.
